Jennifer gets the vehicle she wanted after all

I originally came in on 4/8/10 and decided on a 2009 Santa Fe Limited, which was in the showroom and burgundy in color.  I told Mark I had to come back with my husband to test drive it and finalize the financing.

I emailed Mark this morning and he stated that the deal I wanted could be met, and I told him I'd be in this evening.  He had my phone number and my email.

I called Sherri when I was leaving my house at 5:19 pm and stated that we were on our way here.  She said that although she wouldn't be here, we were in good hands.  When we walked in the door 22 minutes later, the vehicle I had chosen was gone.

I was exteremely upset.  I was then told by Mark and the sales manager that it 'just sold' 4 minutes before I got here.  I was also told that it wasn't their fault, since I hadn't put money down.  I didn't know that was an option nor did I know it was required.

We shopped the lot and found the exact vehicle we wanted, just in a different color.  So we were happy.  When it came time to finalize the financing arrangements, our quoted, 'guaranteed' rate of 6.3% jumped to 8.8%. 

We purchased the truck anyway, since we love the car.  Although I am over the fact that the color I wanted was gone (we actually saw the party that bought the car on the lot leaving, so I know Mark was being truthful), and I discouraged about the interest rate.  I feel that when the Sales Manager told me the night before that the rate was 'guaranteed' and even had me initial a paper with that 6.3% on there, that should have meant it was a sure thing.

In the future, he should watch how he words things when using absolutes such as 'guaranteed' and 'absolutely'.  Those words were tossed around too loosely in our case.

We are leaving here with a wonderful vehicle that is only slightly above our intended payment price.  So we are happy.
